Community Baptist Church in involved with the Prayer Shawl Ministry. This ministry was started in 1998 by Janet Bristow, and Victoria Gallo. (see the shawl website: www.shawlministry.com).
A group of ladies meet regularly to knit or crochet shawls for women and scarves for men. We enjoy a time of prayer, fellowship, and laughter.
The shawls or scarves are given to those who are ill, struggling with a difficult issue in their life, during bereavement, etc. They are accompanied with a prayer card. Receiving one of these is a tangible reminder of God's love for us, and it like getting a hug from God as you use them.
